If you like Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, then you're probably looking forward to the DLC. Activision has released a couple more character screens from the DLC, including Soundwave and an old school Optimus Prime, from the original cartoon series. Previously, we learned the original Starscream would be added as a playable character, and Activision has noted there will be more details coming soon.
And if you didn't care for the game, at least robots are still cool to look at.

'Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen' Makes Explosive Hollywood Premiere
Some played with the action figures when they were children; others remember the cartoon show. Some were there to see Megan Fox on the big-screen; others were there for Shia LaBeouf. The one thing everyone on the red carpet for Monday's "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" premiere seemed to share, however, was a love of all things big, noisy and — in the immortal words of Michael Bay — awesome.
"We made history in this movie with a scene that involved the biggest explosion scene with actors in it," marveled series star Tyrese, who joked that the hairs on the back of his neck still haven't grown back. "It was this huge explosion."

Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen - another review
The cast: Shia LaBeouf stars as bright-eyed teen Sam Witwicky and Megan Fox is his lithe bike-mechanic girlfriend Mikaela Barnes. Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson return as testosterone-fuelled marines Lennox and Epps respectively. John Turturro is twitchy ex-FBI agent/current conspiracy theorist butcher Simmons. Ramon Rodriguez is super-annoying teen web entrepreneur Leo.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen -- movie review
I have a confession to make -- a dirty little secret, if you will: I like Michael Bay movies. Notice I did not say “films” ... I said movies. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some films of the art house variety, too, but I (unlike other stuffy critics) know when to leave my brain at the door, release my inner adolescent and enjoy a cinematic thrill ride. And Bay has been honing his thrill ride formula for a good little while now. Bad Boys, The Rock, Armageddon (love that one), Pearl Harbor -- the man’s got his recipe down pat. One gets the feeling that Bay overdosed on 1970’s Spielberg films (especially Jaws and Close Encounters), 1980’s Tony Scott movies (I’ll bet he LOVED Top Gun), and everything directed by James Cameron (their common motto: THINK BIG).

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen & M&M?
It looks like director Michael Bay wasn't kidding when he said that the IMAX version of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is a "slightly longer cut" - we're hearing it's less than half a minute longer.
Speaking of Bay, his official website has posted this funny new M&M tie-in ad for the film.

New 'Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen' Trailer Leaks Online
Autobots, roll out! We're just hours away from the official new trailer launch for "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," but fans are already salivating over every morsel of Decepticon evil and Optimus Prime heroics. Yes, even as the new trailer is set to hit Yahoo in glorious quicktime glory on Thursday at noon, many fans have already taken a peek at the leaked trailer online (albeit in a much lesser quality than the forthcoming official launch).
"Megatron wants what's in my mind!" screams Sam Witwicky in the 2:32 clip, which appeared on YouTube and other Web sites Wednesday morning (April 29), a day before it was due to officially premiere online. "I just had a full-blown mental meltdown in the middle of my class. I'm seeing symbols!"
Contrasting with the action-packed "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" trailers that have come before it, the new clip focuses mainly on Shia LaBeouf's story as Sam, the main human character in the series. It begins with Shia having a frank discussion with his pal Bumblebee, explaining that it's time for him to move out of the house and on with his life. "Bee," he says. "I want to talk to you about the college thing, OK?"
Forget the leak. We like the frame-by-frame analysis here. Hope Mudflap survived that Decepticon encounter!

Megan Fox Talks JONAH HEX and TRANSFORMERS REVENGE OF THE FALLEN
Megan Fox is gorgeousness and geekiness all wrapped into one. And not the fake "oh I'm a geek" girls who star in genre movies but don't have any clue a la Kristen Bell in Fanboys, Fox is the real deal.
Megan Fox and Seth Rogen recently did an interview together for USA Weekend.
Here are some excerpts -
Megan, you and "Transformers" co-star Shia LaBeouf are good friends. Were your make-out scenes uncomfortable?
Megan: It's always weird. That's not something that's ever romantic or sexy. Doing an on-set kiss is just strange, and knowing Shia so well makes it even more strange.
The excerpts featured pretty much sum up the interview. But if you want to read the entire interview, see link below.

Linkin Park and Hans Zimmer Working on ‘Transformers’ Score
Whenever a major movie production is in preparations to see the light of day, such as is the case with “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” those few artists who get to collaborate on the musical score are guaranteed to have a hit track on their hands upon release. On this note, Linkin Park has just announced that it would be writing a song for one of this summer’s biggest blockbusters, “Transformers.”
Writing on the official web page, Mike Shinoda has confirmed previous rumors that, indeed, the band would return to the franchise with a new track (Linkin Park is also featured on the score of the first film). Moreover, Shinoda says, the song will not be just any Linkin Park-type of track, but a collaboration with music composer and multi-Oscar winner Hans Zimmer, so what fans should expect is truly something big, music-oriented publications point out.
“Although I wasn’t at liberty to say it before, the song I’ve been referencing here on mikeshinoda.com in the past few weeks… is actually being done for Michael Bay’s new Transformers film, due out June 24th.” Shinoda says in a post on his official website. “In addition – and probably ever cooler – we have been offered the unique opportunity to help score the film. The song we wrote is being used as one of the themes, and we will be writing various interpolations on that theme, and trying out some other thematic ideas as part of the (very large) team scoring the film.” the rocker adds.
We like the details "layered, heavy synths"!

Quick Hits: Linkin Park records new song for TROTF
Linkin Park's "What I've Done" closed out 2007's Transformers film and the band will be involved in this summer's sequel as well. Mike Shinoda revealed on his website that LP has recorded a new song for Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen. Shinoda also wrote that Linkin Park will be involved in the score for the film, as their new track will be "used as one of the themes, and we will be writing various interpolations on that theme, and trying out some other thematic ideas as part of the (very large) team scoring the film." Shinoda revealed that the band has been working with acclaimed film composer Hans Zimmer on the project. 'Transformers' Sequel Is 'Bigger, Badder, Better,' Cast Says
New castmembers Ramon Rodriguez and Isabel Lucas share 'Revenge of the Fallen' details.
Last we heard from Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf), he'd just helped his Transformer buddies save the world. Now, as the much-anticipated sequel picks up, all Witwicky wants is to quit being a hero for a while and become a regular college kid. This being a Michael Bay film, however, don't expect Witwicky's hopes for peace and quiet to last very long.
How exactly that tranquility will be interrupted — and what exactly will transpire as "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" gets going — is anything but clear at this point. Plot details are still very much under wraps. But two of the film's co-stars, Ramon Rodriguez and Isabel Lucas, gave MTV News some fresh insight into what we can expect when the film hits theaters June 24.
"It's bigger, it's badder, it's better," said Rodriguez, who plays Leo Spitz, Witwicky's roommate at Princeton University and the proprietor of a Web site about conspiracy theories, from aliens to robots.
Mudflap, Skids, Trax, Arcee, Demolishor, Devastator and more - we're looking forward to seeing all these Transformers in action!

Transformers ROTF Co-Writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci Say The Sequel Is Darker
Is the Transformers Franchise going Dark for success?
Sci-Fi wire had the interview with the co-writers of one of the biggest franchise releases we will see this summer.
"Actually, I think you'll find that it has all the same tone of the first movie," Kurtzman said. "The story's a little smoother, and it's a little bit darker, so it does dip in there a little bit, but it has all the same humor, if not more than the first movie."
What could this mean? Could maybe Prime not make it through this next one?
Hmm, how many shades darker ? Does it matter? We'll go see this film no matter what!

Michael Bay Spills "The Space Bridge' Beans
Entertainment Weekly caught up with Michael Bay where he elaborates on what was to blame in ROTF for Shia's injured hand. Below is a excerpt from that article.
Michael Bay remembers the day that Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen nearly fell apart. It was Sunday, July 27, 2008. "I always look on CNN.com," says the filmmaker. "And there it was: Shia LaBeouf in a car crash... Oh, God. I read it and thought, 'No, this can't be true.'"
But it was. The 22-year-old star, who was about one-third of the way through shooting the sequel to Bay's 2007 hit Transformers, had seriously injured his left hand in an early-morning traffic accident in West Hollywood.
While he was naturally concerned about LaBeouf's health, Bay also had a movie to finish. With his leading man's cooperation, he moved decisively to keep from shutting down the production, and a bandaged LaBeouf returned to the set after just a few weeks - against the advice of one of his doctors, the actor says. The screenwriters tweaked the script so that his character...gets hurt in a sort of teleportation device called a "space bridge." LaBeouf agreed to postpone additional surgery on his hand until after the shoot wrapped in October, and he was outfitted with a custom-made hand cast designed to be both photogenic and super protective. (There has even been talk of replacing LaBeouf's hand with CG; Bay says it was ruled as too expensive and "a pain in the neck.")
A "space bridge"? Transformer purists have something to say about that! Any other way to explain an injured hand?

Activision Planning ‘Transformers’ Character DLC
In the near future, gamers accustomed to buying extra “Guitar Hero” songs and new “Call of Duty” maps will be able to download additional Robots In Disguise.
During a demo for Activision’s “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” last week in New York City, I couldn’t help but express my desire to play as Transformers others than the ones I was being shown.
I’m in luck.
The upcoming multi-platform game based on the big “Transformers” movie sequel, won’t just offer players a variety of Autobots and Decepticons to control. It will offer gamers the ability to download more.
An Activision representative told me that the company has a “healthy DLC [downloadable content] plan which will incorporate more characters.” This is part of Activision’s intent to offer the largest Transformer character ever seen in a game based on the franchise. I didn’t ask, but it is likely that many of these new characters would be offered as paid DLC rather than as free. That’s been the business model employed successfully by Activision and other publishers for new content in “Guitar Hero,” “Rock Band,” “Halo” and more.
We like this DLC plan, but how much will the new characters cost? Will this option be available on all platforms?

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Preview (PC) - Optimus Prime & co. take aim at video game consoles in Activision's Transformers sequel
Activision's previous Transformers game was a cheap attempt to cash in on the blockbuster film, full of annoying missions and average looking visuals. With the sequel set to release to theaters June 24th, the company's at it again with Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, available for multiple platforms June 23rd. Thanks to some key improvements, this movie-based game may live up to the hype.
Similar to the previous adventure, you'll play as the good-natured Autobots or the evil Decepticons across a wide variety of missions that'll take you to such locales as Cairo and Shanghai. This time, however, Activision promises a larger cast of transforming robots. While it has yet to announce the official list, we can confirm Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Ironhide, Starscream and a new Autobot named Sideways that transforms into an Audi R8 will be available.
In addition, developer Luxoflux hopes to make the actual transforming as seamless as possible. Now you'll be able to switch between robot and vehicle on the fly, climbing up the sides of buildings only to get on all four wheels once you hit the roof. Similarly, Decepticon Starscream has the ability to soar through the air as a fighter jet, transform once he lands and then take off again in one smooth transition. While you could do this to some extent in the last game, the designers wanted to make it more integral with the gameplay.

Shia Transformed- Hope Even Stevens has a good HMO
Say what you will about Shia LaBeouf, but we bet dollars to donuts that Indiana Jones isn't the first person who calls you when you're in the hospital.
The Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen star recently shared with EWOnline the particulars of his car accident last July, which resulted in doctors using part of his hip bone to make the actor a new finger. LaBeouf also revealed that he almost went blind on the set of the Transformers sequel, when a piece of Decepticon or Autobot cut his eyelid.
A few hours after the crash, the 22-year-old actor underwent four hours of surgery on his left hand. "[Doctors] shaved a piece of bone off my hip and made a [bone for my] finger out of it," LaBeouf told EWOnline. The actor is expected to regain 80% mobility in his left hand.
LaBeouf also said that his Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull co-star, Harrison Ford, was the first person to call him following his surgery, telling the actor bluntly to get back to the set of Revenge of the Fallen.
It seems we're not the only ones impressed by this detail from the now oft-quoted interview. We're sorry it was a nasty accident but to receive a phone call from Harrison Ford! Wow!

Steven Spielberg Thinks Transformers 2 Might Be Michael Bay’s Best Film; New Trailer Cut
Michael Bay screened Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen for Steven Spielberg
today on the Sony Lot, and according to Bay, Steven loved it.
“Steven Spielberg sat next to me in a big 100 person theater at Sony today,” wrote Bay on his online forum. “There were 98 empty seats. The lights came up after we just watched my cut of Revenge of the Fallen. He turned to me and said ‘It’s awesome’ He felt this movie was better then the first - and probably my best, who knows - at this point in a movie you start to lose your objectivity. I just hope the fans like it.”
Of course, this is all according to the guy who made the movie. Bay went on to say that they just got done cutting a new trailer for the film, which will be attached to X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which hits theaters on May 1st. So if you needed a reason to see Wolverine on the big screen, you might now have one.
Transformers and Wolverine both rock!

Michael Bay Names his Favorite "Revenge of the Fallen" Transformers
Blockbuster filmmaker Michael Bay made waves when he spoke candidly about the new robot it his “Transformers” sequel that he hated so much he decided to kill it. But as he is also quick to point out, there are far more soon-to-be-seen Autobots and Decepticons that he can’t wait to unveil for us.
“The Fallen is the ultimate bad boy,” Bay explained of the mysterious evildoer glimpsed briefly in the trailer for the June 24 film, whose vengeful mission gives the film’s title its double meaning. “He goes way back in the Transformer world. He’s one of the first Transformers.”
Hmm, interesting choice.
